SPECIAL BULLETIN: VISIT FROM MALDIVES DELEGATION TO IDT

Friday, 18 July 2025 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Interactive Dakwah and Tarbiyah (IDT) Centre, Level 1

Alhamdulillah, on Friday, 18 July 2025, IDT was honoured to receive a special visit from a five-member delegation from the Maldives Island Council and Dawah Team. This official visit aimed to strengthen strategic relations and exchange experiences in conducting dakwah efforts, especially in tourist-centric environments.

Sharing the Reality of Dawah in the Maldives The delegates shared their current efforts on Maafushi Island, one of the Maldives' most visited local islands, which lacks structured dawah activities despite the high volume of tourists.

They are currently exploring the implementation of "Mosque Tours" — a welcoming, informative approach to introduce Islam to non-Muslim visitors in a respectful and insightful manner.

As part of the visit, the delegation requested to meet with President of IDT, Brother Lim Jooi Soon and observe a live demonstration of mosque tour and dakwah activities carried out by the organization.

IDT: Structured Dawah, New Muslim Support & International TrainingEnter heading here...

During the dialogue session, Bro Lim Jooi Soon, provided a comprehensive introduction to the organization. He explained that IDT is a registered dakwah body focused not only on outreach to non-Muslims, but also on nurturing new Muslims through structured support programs.

Key initiatives include:

  1. New Muslim Classes (Weekly) in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and English
  2. Field dakwah efforts in public spaces and tourism areas
  3. DawahPro Global — an international dakwah training program that has equipped hundreds of daies from various countries since 2022.

Prospects of Future Collaboration The Maldivian delegation expressed a strong interest in inviting Bro Lim to the Maldives, with the hope of leveraging his expertise in developing an appropriate dakwah framework for their local context.

They also proposed future collaboration with IDT, particularly in areas such as curriculum development, daie training, and the structured implementation of mosque tour programs in tourist destinations.

Our Hope and Prayer May this visit mark the beginning of a start of meaningful cooperation between IDT and the dawah community in the Maldives — expanding our collective mission of spreading Islam with wisdom, compassion, and professionalism.

"Indeed, this responsibility belongs to all of us."
